Peter Larkum
Inspiring young people through interactive learning
Peter Larkum has over 10 years' experience inspiring young people in schools, colleges and community projects throughout the UK.
With infectious enthusiasm, passion and a people-focused approach Peter is skilled at delivering engaging presentations, lessons and workshops that encourage interactive learning through a range of techniques including multi-media visuals, role play, discussion, and debate. Peter has a great ability to connect with and hold the attention of young people and professionals from a variety of backgrounds and specialises in communicating fundamental information about emotional wellbeing.
Peter began working professionally with young people at the age of 19. Over the last 10 years, he has been inspiring young people to fulfill their potential in various capacities - through media arts team Exalt, the YMCA, youth organisations and many schools and colleges throughout the UK. From his time as a youth worker in a Dundee based drop-in centre to a Connexions Personal Advisor, Peter has helped vulnerable or disenfranchised young people raise their aspirations, prepare themselves for further education or take their first steps into the working world.
Peter is continually developing his skills and has recently become a MHFA - Mental Health First Aid - Trainer. MHFA is a response to the widespread ignorance and lack of confidence in what to do if someone is distressed or in crisis, with an aim to improve mental health literacy throughout our communities.
